Get Involved – This Breast Cancer Awareness Month

‘Tis the season for pink! It’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and people from all around the world are donning pink ribbons to support the cause. However, if you want to do more than just wearing a pink ribbon this year, there are many ways you can get involved.  From world famous runs to individual campaigns, let’s put the boob forward and raise funds for better research into the cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of breast cancer.

Walk or Run for Breast Cancer

One of the most popular ways to get involved with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to participate in a walk or run. They can be found across the globe, from major cities to small towns you may not have ever heard of. One of the most famous ways to get involve is with include The American Cancer societies’ annual 3 to 5 mile walk (or run) called Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.  They’re located across the United States, and with a quick search online, you can find a way to strut your stuff to better care for your boobs.

There is an abundance of other breast cancer awareness walks sponsored by other organizations. So, wherever you are, you can find one close to you.

Volunteer for Boobies

You don’t have to walk or run in order to support National Breast Cancer Awareness month either. You can always become a volunteer and contribute to this amazing cause that way. This could be working the sign up table and meeting amazing survivors, or cleaning up after the event.

Purchase from Companies Supporting National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

If participating in a walk isn’t for you, there are many additional ways you can support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In fact, you don’t even have to move. You just have to be a smart shopper!

A plethora of companies actually change up their business plan during the month of October, allowing a percentage of their proceeds to go towards National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So keep an eye out for these companies. If you’re buying new clothes, electronics or even a coffee this month, opt to do so from a company that has your breasts in mind!

Direct Donation to National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation

You can make a donation directly the foundation. The cool thing is that your donation can be contributed to a specific person, team or event. Since the sole purpose is for everyone to raise the most amount of money, you can help your friend, a team or a local event meet or exceed their mark this year.

Either way, we’re all winners when we participate or donate to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. So, wear your pink, get involved and invest in your chest!
