SanThorax 1096 and 1097 highly functional, intelligently designed, temperature-regulating

The highly specialised SanThorax (also with post-op belt) is specifically designed for the period after surgery involving longitudinal dissection of the breastbone.

The high-tech design starts with the material, the lateral support and shaping strap being composed of a special soft, high-functional laminate called Comfort-Temp. This has the ability to absorb excess heat from the body and re-release it as required. This even heat distribution guarantees active temperature regulation and a constant microclimate for the skin, thus preventing the body from either overheating or undercooling and actively reducing perspiration.

Other high-tech features of the material are constant air permeability and high air circulation, designed to guarantee optimal breathability.

The skin side, by contrast, consists of a ”bioac­tive“ material with an anti-microbial effect thanks to silver ions which are locked into the fibre polymer. That way the effect is not lost even with frequent washing, and the active substances in the fibres cannot come off on the skin.

A further functional advantage of the garment is its easy handling. Equipped with Velcro/fleece in the straps, front fastening and bottom band, it allows easy opening and closure, and hence quick access in the event of resuscitation.

Various design details, such as the lateral support and lateral elastic bandage straps, not only provide support by preventing tension from being exerted on the wound, but also ensure breathability. This helps guard against infections and complications, giving the patient a sense of security and belief in her progress towards recovery.

A final detail is the narrow, adjustable bottom band which exerts gentle pressure on the sternum, thereby actively absorbing the stress on the breastbone in case of coughing, as well as accommodating the drainage tubes in a special tubular fabric to ease pressure on the wound area.

Function:
Easy to use thanks to Velcro/fleece in straps, front fastening and bottom band. High level of support thanks to high-functional lateral support preventing tension from being exerted on the scar/wound, active exclusion of so-called ”damp pocket“, lateral elastic bandages for added support.

Narrow bottom band quickly adjustable to individual needs. Positioned directly in the patient’s underbust area, thus exerting gentle pressure on the sternum – actively absorbs stress on the breastbone in case of coughing and eases pressure on the wound area by allowing drainage tubes to be positioned in the tubular fabric of the bottom band.
