Hello back!

Auch mein Trainer sagte mehr “perfecto” als “no no no”.

So nett!

Hello back!

Kickboxer Sarah Liegmann in the USA: Episode 3

Wow this week happened very much & I can’t wait to tell you everything!

Monday to Wednesday I had my last sessions in Mexico. Again tough ones but I felt a big improvement, also my coach started to say more “perfecto” than “no no no”. In my last session we did a evaluation about the last weeks and all together my coach and I were very happy with what we could improve in such a short time. I was sad that I had to leave but the next adventure already waited for me. And I mean adventure. So my mum and I packed our luggage on Wednesday because on Thursday at 1 pm our flight to Fort Lauderdale departured. I can tell u we both were so nervous, because we didn’t no if our plan would work. Our plan was to to circumvent the rule that Germans are not allowed to immigrate in the US. This only works when you stay at least 14 nights out of the Schengen area, for example in Mexico. But all together it’s the decision of the person at the immigration control if you are allowed to get into the country. So maybe now you understand our nervousness. But  we had good luck on our side everything went fine, we had no problem with the immigration. It felt so good to finally arrive in the US, with 5 months delay, but this didn’t matter, I arrived and that was all that counted!

On Friday in the morning we visited the American Anita Team. They were very nice and we talked almost 1 1/2 hour about my plans, my favourite Anita outfits and my Anita protection bra which Anita Germany created for me, for my fights. They also gave me some new underwear, sports bras, Anita bags & 4 cute Anita hand sanitizer! So nice!

In the afternoon it was planned to train the first time with John David Jackson, former WBO & WBA Worldchampion and today’s coach of the two olympic gold medalist and undefeated Worldchampion Claressa shields. Of course I was very nervous but when I met him he got something calm and positive that made me feel less nervous and more confident. He was impressed by my power and said I’m a good boxer & that I only have to improve in some little things, like balance & movement. On Saturday we also trained together and it felt so good to work with him.

We did a lot of pad work and some rounds at a punching ball and I learned so much in two days. He’s a great coach & has a very great personality. On Saturday he asked if I would be open to work more with him and of corse I said yes! Now we are planning to train more in the next week! I’m very excited for this!
