"I have already defeated Maria Lindberg before and this time she will not have it any easier," Christina Hammer said during a TV interview with the German morning magazine one week before the fight facing the Scandinavian. In 2011 Christina already took on Lindberg emerging from the fight as winner.

On April 1st they were facing each other for the second time in Christina’s hometown Dortmund. With this a dream comes true, says Hammer: Boxing in front of local audience gives her an additional portion of motivation.

Victory in focus

Confident of winning she took on the ten rounds of the title defense fight for the WBC belt.

"Defeat - I do not even know this word, and I am not willing to. Winning is the only thing I consider and I do everything it takes to make it happen." the 26-year-old answered being asked what will happen in the case a possible defeat.

Her hard training was evident in the boxing ring last Saturday. She hardly left the Swede a chance to set major blows and was the one who dominated the fight. After ten rounds the judges announced an unanimous decision and the victory after points. Christina remains undefeated with 21 wins in 21 professional fights.

Her upcoming bouts will take place in the United States, where she will meet two-times Olympic Champion Clarissa Shields in summer 2018.
