ISPO AWARD Winner 2020

ISPO AWARD WINNER 2020 extreme control plus

The recipients of the ISPO Awards are announced just ahead of the world’s largest trade fair for sports products, ISPO Munich, opening its doors.

Anita active has been crowned a winner for the fourth time, with its extreme control plus sports bra coming out on top in the Fitness & Team Sports/Bras category.

Highly sought-after among sports goods manufacturers, the ISPO Award is handed out every year to celebrate outstanding products within the sector. The prize acts as a seal of quality and point of reference for retailers. An international, independent panel of expert judges selects winners from several hundred entries across the various categories.

An ANITA product has managed to win over the judges for the fourth time. This year, the sports bra specialists based in Upper Bavaria submitted something a little different for the judges’ approval. The extreme control plus is a sports bra designed specifically with athletes with a larger cup size in mind. A special style and clever technical details, such as the innovative double strap design, make the extreme control plus a high-performance addition to any exercise outfit.

“Functional sports bras have a lot of boxes to tick. They need to minimise the bust’s movement during high-intensity sports to support the sensitive breast tissue.

Many manufacturers only stick to the standard sizes in their sports bra range. But large cup sizes need extra support.

And it takes experience and expertise to get the pattern, fit and functional details right.”

Katja Hartenstein, Head of R&D at ANITA

Over 130 Years Expertise

The company has both in spades – in the sports sector and beyond – after over 130 years in the business. The family-run company makes women’s lingerie and
swimwear for various target groups, specialising in highly functional products with spot-on technical details.

New products are tested by up to 100 women with different bra sizes before production begins. All ANITA articles are developed in Germany and almost all of them are produced in the company’s own factories.

“When developing the extreme control plus, we made sure to take feedback from our testers and retailers on board. “Athletes with a larger cup size usually struggle to find a sports bra that provides enough support.”

Katja Hartenstein, Head of R&D at ANITA

But that’s all set to change in spring 2020 thanks to the extreme control plus. The bra is available in cup size F–K, adding to the existing Anita active size range.
